5 Transitional Outfit Ideas for the Rainy Season
Thought I'd title today's blog post something a little quirky because, as someone who absolutely loves Autumnal fashion and transitional looks, living in a tropical climate means dressing for the cold is something we don't get to do.
However, it's been pretty rainy and chilly over the past couple of days — which in Singapore's context means that we can start whipping out our sweaters/ cardigans/ knit wear and begin dressing for Singapore's shorter version of Autumn.
Dress: Montifs
This first look is for the sunnier days — a midi dress is long enough to keep you covered, but having the spaghetti straps accentuates your décolleté so you won't feel swallowed up by all that fabric. I especially love this piece because of the tortoise shell buttons — I feel like they give a piece so much more class and personality.
I do have a code that gives 10% off your order on Montifs — you can use "MICHELLE10". :)
Tee Shirt: Brandy Melville (NYC)
Dress: The Style Soiree
Shoes: Nike AF1s
Layering pieces is a big yes for me. Even though temperatures here don't get anywhere below 25 degree celcius, I would still attempt to layer with short sleeved tees and mini dresses. This look was a fave for many of you over on Instagram and it's definitely one of mine as well! It gives an otherwise simple look a little more personality and will for sure turn some heads when you're out and about.
Sweater: Wild Peonies
Skorts: Mooloola via City Beach
To be honest, all I want to do when it's chilly is be snuggled up in a blanket, which is what wearing a cosy sweater feels like for me. This cable knit one from Wild Peonies is perfect for a rainy day and since this is Singapore we're talking about, I kept the bottoms short and airy so that if the sun decides to come out, I wouldn't get too sweaty and hot.
Top: Wild Peonies
Belt: Ally Fashion
Denim Shorts: Bangkok
Hat: A friend's :)
Since it's transitional weather we're talking about, I felt that it's definitely fair to throw in something a little more suited to the tropical climate we're more accustomed to on our sunny island home. Keeping to an Autumnal colour palette, I went for a brown top and paired it with some denim shorts.
I also have a 12% code with Wild Peonies! You can use MICH12WP on their site for everything besides sale items and backorders. :)

Top: Wild Peonies
Denim Skort: A hand-me-down
Bag: Michael Kors
Sandals: Famous Footwear
I couldn't have published this post without giving a shoutout to something ribbed so here we are — I feel like mustards are perfect for October and this one from Wild Peonies is the perfect shade to include in your Autumn closet. We already know that I am obsessed with the buttons so I'm not going to elaborate on that. This is such a comfy piece to throw on and is something I can see working on both sunnier days with shorter bottoms or colder days with long pants.
