Empties: Kiehl's, The Body Shop, Fresh & more!

by - 28 July

While I was taking a hiatus from blogging in June, I actually got around to using up a couple of my favourite products so I thought I'd have a go at sharing how these fared for me. If you do try them out or have had experience with any of the products mentioned, be sure to leave me a comment below letting me know!

Hair & Body

CONDITIONER
The first product I used up was the Kiehl's Sunflower Color Preserving Conditioner. It was already a repurchase so I kinda had an expectation for it. It worked super well the first time around and left my hair soft and silky and smelling great! However, the second bottle somehow didn't do much for my hair. I don't know if it's because of the humidity in Singapore or the fact that my hair just got used to it so it wasn't as effective anymore — which made me really sad because I remember being so excited about a conditioner that was colour protecting, smelt great and left my hair really soft.

Regardless, I would give it a 4/5.

SHOWER GEL
Next is the Moringa Shower Gel from The Body Shop. We've (my sister and I) used so many 250ml bottles of this since the start of this year! Our friends recommended it to us so we got a few different scents at one go but this one is still my favourite. It has a floral scent and aromatherapy is real for me you guys. Using this shower gel actually soothes me and puts me in a better mood.

Would give it a 4.5/5. :)

HAIR MASK
The last one is also from The Body Shop! It's the Shea Butter Richly Replenishing Hair Mask. This one saved my hair for sure. My hair was pretty damaged and I hadn't realised how dry it had gotten until I tried this product and my hair was transformed into its best self, literally. I experienced how soft it could actually be and that really sold me. It comes in a 240ml tub and lasted me a couple of months. It's all used up now but I would definitely be making a purchase again once I finish what I am currently using.

Would give it a 5/5!! Highly recommend. :)

Skincare

NIGHT SERUM
The first skincare product I'm touching on is The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-in-Oil. I haven't really tried oil-based serums in the past so when I first started using it, I honestly didn't really like it. It felt too overpowering on my skin so I put it aside for a bit until late last year when I decided to give it another go. Personally I feel like with oil-based products my skin needs time to get used to it because of the different consistency. Since I sleep in an air-conditioned room, I started to find that using this before bed keeps my skin plump all night long. So I ended up really appreciating having this in my routine. Would I repurchase? Probably not, because it just didn't become an integral part of my night time routine.

This is about a 3/5 for me!

CLEANSING BALM
The Banila Co. Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm is one that I absolutely swear by. Ever since being introduced to it 3 or 4 years ago, it is the only make-up remover I use when I have on a full face of makeup. Nothing melts off my makeup as well as this does! It has a balm-like consistency (obviously since it's a balm hehe), which means it starts off solid and kinda waxy, then as you apply onto your face it melts into a liquid form. This never leaves my face feeling oily or uncomfortable, and I love how it can dissolve even the toughest water-proof makeup and doesn't leave a trace. I'm a huge believer in double-cleansing so I would still go ahead with a face wash after this.

Highly recommend!! It's a 5/5 from me. :)

ROSE MASK
FRESH never fails to blow me away with their amazing masks! If I had to choose one skincare brand to use forever, I'd be happy to go with FRESH because not only do their stuff smell amazing, the packaging fits my aesthetic and every single product I've tried so far works wonders on my skin. The mask I finished up was the FRESH Rose Face Mask infused with real rose petals that hydrates and tones. I remember I started having dry patches on my face before using this and literally after one use, I woke up the next day feeling like my skin was deeply hydrated and the dry patches that have been causing me discomfort seemed to have vanished overnight. It was that unbelievable. This is a remedy for me whenever I feel like my skin is lacking moisture and it's something I will definitely be happy to repurchase when my current stash of wash-off masks run low.

It's a 5/5 for this too!
