23 things I'm still learning at 23

by - 24 March

Today I turn 23!

I'm always a big big birthday celebrator — be it my own, or any of my loved ones'. I love that we get to truly love and celebrate the people we are wholeheartedly on this one special day of the year.

Instead of writing my hopes and wishes for myself as I turn over yet another chapter, I decided to look back on the things I've learnt and things I'm still working on.

So here are the 23 things I'm still learning at 23.

  1. Everybody makes mistakes.
  2. You don't have to have it together all the time.
  3. Your past doesn't define you.
  4. Prioritise inner peace.
  5. Let go of things that don't spark joy - physical or not.
  6. You are stronger than you realise.
  7. You deserve the good things this life brings.
  8. Not everything has to be perfect.
  9. People usually don't notice the flaws you see in yourself.
  10. Don't be too hard on the things you cannot change/ have no control over.
  11. It's always good to just go for it— it's true that one year ago you'd wish you started today.
  12. Don't hold onto things you wish could've been done differently.
  13. Be okay with not being okay sometimes.
  14. Your feelings are valid.
  15. It's okay if things don't go the way you envision them to.
  16. Be flexible.
  17. Your happiness is in your own hands, and no one else's.
  18. Importance of being present.
  19. You don't have to explain your choices to anyone but yourself.
  20. Stepping out of your comfort zone is actually less scary and more beneficial than you think.
  21. You have to have faith that things will all work out.
  22. Alone time is a beautiful thing.
  23. You still have the rest of your life to create magic so make the best of it.
Happy birthday, me! :)
