#whatIworein LA/ SF 🌞

by - 18 December

My last post on what I wore in NY seemed to have been pretty popular with you guys so here's a second post on my outfits in LA & SF. It was so much fun and pretty surreal to be back in California 5 years later and this time with the loml. I'm working on some vlogs at the moment so you can definitely look forward to those, but for now, here's a little snippet of my time in the west coast.

LOS ANGELES

Our first full day was a lot of touristy and fun things! We started the morning by heading to The Original Farmer's Market and The Grove, then had brunch at Urth Caffe on Melrose. We also grabbed a drink from Alfred's Tea Room and checked out the famous pink wall before ending off the day with a trip to Universal Citywalk.

Since it was pretty warm in LA, I could afford to dress for summer weather and went for a classic white top and denim pairing. I loved this because you really could never go wrong. To spice up the look I opted for a printed choker (which was repurposed - it originally came with the skirt as some sort of belt). Completed this look with a pair of sunnies that I got from a booth at The Grove.

For the second day I wanted to be a little more dressed up so I went for a button down shirt paired with the same denim skirt from the day before. I wore this blouse in my NY outfits as well and I absolutely loved it! This time though I knotted the front of the shirt for a less formal take on it. On this day we went to see the Hollywood sign (but failed to get close), Griffith Observatory, Venice Beach and Santa Monica Pier.

Yay Day 3! I'm actually wearing a new dress that I got from zara on day 1. This dress works wonders and hugs your body perfectly. I'm not one for tight dresses but I knew it was one that I had to bring home when I tried it on. The thin stripes stood out beautifully against the dark base. What's more, it was soooo comfortable to wear. To style it I had on my brown jacket from Cheep which you guys are familiar with and when I'm not wearing it, I tied it around my waist for a street styled look.

On this day, we visited Runyon Canyon (which had pretty stunning views of LA), Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills Hotel and Little Tokyo.

On the fourth day, I went with a graphic tee and jeans combination that could never go wrong. We were exploring DTLA on this day so I wanted something that would suit the whole downtown vibe. I love rocking graphic tees and am still on the hunt for more. Just like the day before, I threw on my favourite jacket from Cheep when it got a little windy or chilly.

We had breakfast at Eggslut, checked out the LACMA & Urban Lights exhibition and ended off the night with a little touristy activity by visiting the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

 SAN FRANCISCO

The following day we flew to SF! This is Day 1 when we first landed in the bay area. It was definitely slightly chillier in SF so I opted for a long-sleeved top with a midi skirt. I love how the pink stood out against the white and this look is something I'd probably wouldn't be able to wear in SG because of the heat back home. We tried Boba Guys, visited the Painted Ladies and checked out San Francisco City Hall. Being in SF was trippy because I actually remember the last time I was here 5 years ago - I remember our tour bus dropping us off at SF City Hall to get a photo and that's where my family took a nice family photo at. Day 2 in SF was much colder and I was a little under dressed even with a turtle neck. This blush pink one is definitely one of my favourites and I paired it with a brown suede skirt and some stockings for a more put together look. We visited Lombard Street, had breakfast at Mr Holmes Bakehouse, then headed to Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39.

We'll skip Day 3 because it was Black Friday and pretty much all we did was shop!

Our final day in San Francisco! We were flying back to Chicago at night so we had the day to explore the Ferry Building Marketplace as well as the Golden Gate Bridge. I opted for some comfy flight ready attire and threw on this new furry and soft cardigan that I got during the black friday sale for some warmth. Honestly my favourite cardigan of the year - I received like 2 to 3 compliments on it in one day, so you know, it's a good one.

And that's all to the second instalment of my travel outfit diaries! I hope it was an enjoyable ready ~
